Puma : Athletic Performance and Style

Introduction
Puma, a prominent brand in the sportswear world, has long been associated with innovation, performance, and style. Since its inception, Puma has been at the forefront of athletic apparel and footwear, inspiring athletes and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Puma was founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The story begins with the Dassler brothers, Rudolf and Adolf (Adi) Dassler, who initially founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in 1924. Due to personal and business disagreements, the brothers parted ways in 1948, leading to the creation of Puma by Rudolf and Adidas by Adi.
Rudolf Dassler moved into another building belonging to his family. Together with 14 employees, he transformed it into a factory and founded his own company. Rudolf Dassler officially registered the new company as "PUMA Schuhfabrik Rudolf Dassler" on October 1, 1948. One of Puma's first major breakthroughs came in 1952 with the launch of the SUPER ATOM, a football boot that became the world’s first boot with screw-in studs. Rudolf Dassler collaborated with experts, such as West Germany’s national coach Sepp Herberger, to develop this shoe model. In 1958, Puma introduced the Formstrip, initially created to stabilize the foot inside the shoe. The Formstrip has since become an iconic design element of Puma's branding. In the 1960s, many top athletes won medals at the Olympic Games and other competitions wearing the brand's shoes. In 1967, the puma takes its first leap across the upper right corner of the PUMA word logo as the world famous “No. 1 Logo” is created. Only minor changes have been made over the years: today, the eye and nuzzle are gone and the ears are more pronounced. The following year, Puma launched a range of sportwear, such as the iconic T7 training suit. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Puma continued to expand its product line, introducing apparel and accessories in addition to its footwear. The brand also made strategic partnerships with top athletes (Pelé, Walt Frazier, Boris Becker...), enhancing its visibility and credibility in various sports. One of Puma's most significant moments came in 1986 when it became a publicly traded company, allowing it to access new capital and fuel further growth. Puma quickly gained recognition for its high-quality athletic shoes and innovative designs all around the world.
